The Thursday Morning Horse Show Series is a long established tradition at the Bucks County Horse Park. Continuously running for over 30 years, our philosophy is to provide exhibitors a fun schooling atmosphere while introducing the rules and procedures of more formal shows. This show series culminates at the Annual Banquet held in November, where Year End Award recipients are honored. Many volunteers are always needed; this is a great way to learn more about hunters and jumpers. All ages, no experience necessary and great perks! Call the office for more information.

Our Hunter Ring will start at 8 am with the three cross rail divisions. The Pleasure Division will follow no earlier than 9 am. The ring will be watered and dragged each week at the division break closest to 11:30 am. Certain divisions qualify for the Colonial Classic Horse Show. Riders may qualify for this show by participating in the designated TMHS classes. Look for the Colonial Classic logo in the TMHS prizelist to see which divisions qualify! Nominations for pairs wishing to go to the Colonial Classic must be recieved by July 18th. Top riders will be based on points accumulation as of August 8th. Marshall and Sterling League classes are also offered. TMHS offers the Bit'O'Straw Hunter Classic, the M&S Adult and Children's Medals, the Dover Saddlery Adult Medal, the Sore No-More Children's Medal and Pony Medals. Additional classes may be offered as requested. Three riders must compete to fill a class; non-members may compete. Only those riders currently members of M&S will have points count. Classes may be combined. An open card will be run for Marshal and Sterling. Please plan on jumping with the rest of the classes at your height. Pinnings will be announced at the end of the day and you may stop back for your ribbons or pick them up the following week.
The Jumper Ring will start at 9 AM with the Itty Bitty Division. TMHS offers six jumper divisions. Itty Bitty riders must memorize only two courses – A and B. Course A will be run over cross rails, then Course B over cross rails, then Course A again over 2' verticals, then Course B again over 2' verticals. There will be different jump offs for Itty Bitty versus other divisions. Other divisions will run over two tracks, A and B. The second course of the division will be a Power and Speed class. The third class of the division will again run over Track A but with more difficult jump off. Electronic timers will be used when possible. All courses become slightly more challenging as the season progresses.
The Children's Ring will begin at 10:30 am. Again this year, we will host expanded divisions to offer our beginner riders additional opportunities to shine.
The top 12 riders in each of 10 specified divisions (see list below) will be invited to compete for double points on September 10. This Invitational Show will be held alongside the yearly Hunter Derby and Jumper Classic. Special Champion prizes and ribbons through eighth place will be awarded in each division. This is a stand alone championship day that will be double pointed towards the year end Thursday Morning Horse Show series. The special format will include two USEF licensed judges working on a panel to score each round.
The Year-End Awards Program is available for members and registered competitors who have competed at 4 Thursday Morning Horse Shows in the SAME division. Bucks County Horse Park members pay no fee but must register for the program; non-members register and pay a $25 fee. YEA Rules and Regulations/Application
2024 Year End Award Standings - as of 8/22/2024As these shows have become more competitive, we want to ensure our Year End Awards recognize the best horse and rider at the end of the season for each division. Through their attendance, these riders also demonstrate continued interest in Bucks County Horse Park. As in the past, a horse or rider is required to compete at a minimum of four (4) shows to qualify for the Year End Awards given at our yearly banquet. This year, thirteen (13) qualifying shows are scheduled where riders can earn points towards the coveted year end awards.
A horse or rider's points toward Year End Awards will be totalled from their best eight (8) shows during the qualifying show year. We worked hard to develop this method and have found that it is a fair way to find the best horse and rider in each division.
