Fund Your Education

Coastal Alabama Community College offers many scholarships including Academic Scholarships, Performance and Ability Scholarships, Athletic Scholarships, Community Scholarships, and Hardship Scholarships and others to offset the cost of attending college. A brief description, including the criteria of each scholarship is below. Scholarships are competitive and are not guaranteed based on minimum qualifications

GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS – apply to all scholarships unless otherwise stated:

• Complete all Admissions requirements
• Qualify for in-state tuition
• Be a full-time student (exception Nursing)
• Be a degree-seeking student
• Meet minimum ACT requirements – composite and/or super scores
• Meet minimum GPA requirements – dual enrollment and transfer hours included in college GPA
• Must complete a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year
• Be a high school or GED graduate.
• Consecutive 2 year maximum, not to exceed 82 attempted cumulative credit hours, dual enrollment and transfer hours included
• Renewal is automatic based on criteria being met
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or resident alien to receive institutional scholarships.

Scholarship Timeline

• October 15: Scholarship Application opens
• March 1: Priority Deadline
• March 1: Selection Process Begins
• March 15: First Round Selections Sent Out
• April 1: Accepted Contracts Must Be Returned
• April 15 - August 15: Additional Awarding if Funds Available

Academic Scholarships

Merit-based scholarships that recognize academic achievement. These scholarships are for recent high school graduates attending Coastal Alabama Community College who have completed the scholarship application.

Presidential
Scholarship

• 3.5 high school GPA.
• 25 ACT minimum
• 3.0 cumulative GPA
• covers tuition and fees
• awarded fall/spring/summer
